Let's Share Hatred

When I was little, I would think that one day somebody will drop a bomb and start the third world war. But in the end, the war came stealthily and quietly. One explosion here, one explosion there ... You never know if the next terrorist attack will happen next month or tomorrow. If it will happen on the other end of our planet or in your street. The goal of this war is not to occupy specific countries. The goal is to induce fear in people. To force us to be afraid to travel, organize meetings, force us to issolation. But how we fight against the evil? With more evil, hate and fear.

don't read newspaper.  I don't watch news in TV. My dad says that I ignore what's going on. But I'm satisfied this way. I feel alright when I know about the most important things which happen and I don't need to know about every robbery, every murder, attack - about all the horrible things which happen every minute in this world. Why should I? When I see some of these news, I ask myself "How did the information enriched me? Is it useful for me?"

I have to admit I can't ignore what's going on in the world for the past year. The attacks don't happen on the other end of our planet (where similar horrors are on a daily basis). It's happening around the corner and it's more horrible than ever before. Tens, maybe hundereds of dead people. It started in January 2015 by the attack in Paris. Then it was quite calm - the crowds of refugees where comming to Europe but nobody attacked or killed anyone. In November Paris was attacked again. That night we were comming from a school trip to London by bus. When it happened, we were just comming to Belgium boundaries. Panic began to spread around the bus. Finally we came back home safe, but since that night I've felt that Europe is officialy at war. The terrorist in Nice. Shooting at the mall in Munich. Turkish failed coup. The attacker with an ax in a train in Germany. Killed priest in Rouen, France ...
Depressed fanatics have been joining Islamic state and killing many innocent people. However most of the attackers weren't "real IS fighters", but "just" mentally disturbed individuals. Usually they were about twenty years old ... Also it's paradoxical that according to experts, the last terroristic attacks didn't have anything in common with religious ideology of Islam. They were just fools who needed something to justify their horrible act. So they joined the Islamic state.

Since November I've been seeing facebook statuses "PrayForParis", "PrayForOrlando", "PrayForNice" ... We're sad, terrified that someone can be so cruel that he kills innocent people - tourists, children, families, random passerbies ... We're scared. And those who are scared, they spread the fear on. They share articles and videos about the terrorist attacks. Of course it's important to be informed and share compassion. Ignoring what's happening is probably not the best solution. But spreading fake panic? Some people even create virus that shares fake reports about terrorist attacks. Isn't this kind of entertainment quite silly? What if some people won't recognize that it's fake? Those, who share these hoaxes, just help the Islamic state to paralyze Europe with fear.

Hatred is contagious. First there was some attacks here and there and now almost every day there is a terroristick attack (or an attempt at least). But politicians don't set stricter punishments and they keep leting dangerous fools out of prison. Intead of that, a lot of them rather share more racism and hatred against muslims. Islamic state is a terroristic organization. Islam on its own is a religion. It has rules which we can't understand but it can be understood different ways, as well as any other religion. Some muslims live in peace with the whole world and on the other hand there are fanatics whose hearts are full of anger and they are capable of killing innocent people "in the name of God". All religions can be misused. Think of all the wars where various Christian churches waged.

Perhaps it would be nice to start thinking more positive. And mainly - start THINKING. Not sharing moonshines. Thinking about what's going on. Not spreading heatred and instead of fighting against the war, we may try to do everything possible to live in peace ...
„No happy man ever disturbed a meeting or preached a war, or lynched a Negro. No happy woman ever nagged her husband or her children. No happy man ever committed a murder or a theft. No happy employer ever frightened his employees. All crimes, all hatred, all wars can be reduced to unhappiness.“
- A. S. Neill (founder of Summerhill school)
