Morning routine. There are thousands of videos and articles about this topic and most of them are prettysimilar. So why should you read this one? Maybe because this routine is realistic and a bit different from other people's. I don't wake up with the sound of the ocean behind the window, like you can see in some youtube videos, I don't go for a run on the beach in the morning, I don't make a superfood smoothie every single day ... I don't check the number of follower on my social sites, I don't go for a café do Starbucks and if I don't expect any extraordinary event, I don't even put on makeup. Instead, I rather focus on activities which lift up my mood, fill me with positive energy and give me motivation for the whole day :)
1. Oil pulling
The first thing I usually do in the morning, is ayurvedic oil pulling. I take about a teaspoon of coconut oil and I swish it in my mouth for about 10-15 minutes. Then I spit oil into the trash. Oil kills the bacteria in your mough and helps to detoxify the whole organism. Also I love this method because it helps the whiten the teeth and clean the tongue perfectly.
2. Dry Brushing
2. Dry Brushing
I've already talked about this method in one of my previous posts. I feel like when I practise dry brushing in the morning, I have much more energy during the day. Brushing helps the blood flow, increases physical energy and supports the lymphatic system.
3. Cold shower
After dry brushing, I usually take a quick cold shower. Usually I start with lukewarm water and when the body gets used to the temperature, I decrease it until I get to the coldest possible temperature. Cold shower, as well as the dry brushing method, helps to wake up the body and improve the circulation. It also strenghtens the immune system, prevents from cold, flu etc. It also strenghtens the skin and helps to reduce stress.
4. Journaling
When I have enough time in the morning, I like to take my notebook and write about everything that comes to my mind. I write about my feelings, my plans, about the things I could be looking forward ... Sometimes, when I have a busy day ahead of me, I write down all the tasks and all the things I feel anxious about ... by writting it all down, I usually assume that it's really no big deal and there's no reason to stress out.

5. Yoga & Meditation
To get rid of stress, I also love practise yoga and meditate in the morning. You need just few minutes sitting on your bed with relaxing music in your earphones. Just close your eyes, focus on your breath, stretch out ... I always get much better mood that I can just develop even more during the day :)

6. Breakfast?!
I found out that breakfasts are not that important for me in summer, than during the rest of the year. I used not to be able to get out of the house without eating at least a big of something. In summer, I don't mind doing some other things in the morning and have a late breakfast (or a "brunch") or skip the breakfast and wait for the lunch. It's said that breakfast is the most important food of the day and it's true from some point of view. But I still think we should listen to our body and if you don't feel like eating right after you wake up ... why should you do that? I rather do some yoga, journaling etc. and then have a great brunch later - oatmeal, fruit salad, pancakes ... On the other hand there are days when I can't wait to wake up and have a big breakfast. I believe that our body tells you exactly what it needs.
What is your recipe for a great morning?
