ENGLAND 2.0 - Part 1

The first time I went to England was in the end of the summer this year. It's just mid-November and I already visited London for the second time with another school trip :) I had mixed feelings from the first visit of London. Some places were really beautiful but the city didn't charm me like Paris or Amsterdam. This time everything changes and I fell in love with London. England is because of its old architecture way more undivided than Czech republic and in some streets you feel like the time stopped and it's like you appeared back in the 19th century ...

We left Prostějov on Sunday at two o'clock in the morning. I considered if it makes sense to go to bed that night and finally I decided to be - with short sleep in bus - awake for two days nonstop.

In the morning about six o'clock we took all of our food bags, blankets and pillows back to the bus and we contunued our journey to Calais. We went to Dover on a ferry and then we were heading for Beachy Head, the biggest cliff in Britain. It offers beautiful view to the coast .. and it's insanely windy over there! The next stop was Brighton where we spent the rest of the day.

First we visited Sea Life and then in our spare time we went shopping to Primark and we had an am-a-z-i-n-g caramel fudge hot chocolate in Costa café. Brighton is magical in its own unique way - there are fair-trade cafés and vegetarian restaurants all around the city, people are extremely nice and willing, the city is known for its big gay community, it's a place where Lewis Caroll got inspired when he  was writting Alice in Wonderland ... And altough Brighton is a major seaside resort, it has way calmer and more relaxed atmosphere than London. After we left Brighton we went to Meeting Point, where our host families took us "home".

We lived with lady from Bangladesh who was really nice, she had a huge house according to London standard and she was an amazing cook. Next day we went to some sightseeing, we saw Tower, walked down the Tower Bridge and finally we went to Greenwich by water taxi. We saw the meridian the first time we went to London so this time we spent the time in the Greenwich park by photographing squirells and colourful leaves.
