Two days ago I was looking for some book in our bookcase and I wanted to get down to reading a book from my mom's collection of "motivational literature". And so I found the book "Aladdin principle" (Das Aladin-Prinzip - Ashley Lippert: Bücher). According to this book, it works similar way in the real life too. What we think about, we attract. The problem is that, altough it sounds very easy, we often don't know how to wish. We think about what we don't want, we don't believe in ourselves and we can't focus on one thought ...
Positive thinking vs. suppression of emotions

Before I start, I'd like to say something for the beginning. I believe that our thoughts are very powerful. But I have a problem with some motivational books because they tell you to "be positive all the time" and I don't agree with that. When I feel sad, disappointed or when I'm angry at someone ... shouting, crying and talking it out helps me much more than telling myself "I am happy", "everything is okay". I think it's important to find balance between positive thinking and experiencing your (positive and negative) emotions. Maybe some people can really destroy the negative thoughts with positive one but personally I can't do that. I need to experience and express the negative emotions, clear my mind in any possible way and then I can focus on the positive thoughts and send the messege to the Universe :)
1. We focus on the negative things
The Universe doesn't know the word "NOT". If we think/say that we "do not want rain tomorrow", the Universe heard just "we want rain tomorrow". Imagine how many people are there in the world. And the Universe has to fulufill all our dreams. How can it know what we all want if we just think and talk about what we don't want?
We all know that from physics classes - the energy can't be created or destroyed. It can only transform. So it makes sense, that our mind have some energy too, right? And we can choose where we send that energy - either give it to the negative thoughts or you can send all your energy to your most important wish. For example what I really want now is to find some way to start earning money when I'll be 18, find someone who will help me with it and who will then travel the world with me. So I try to focus on this wish. I have no idea now, but I believe the ideas will come!
2. We ONLY dream
A lot of motivational books tell you that you can just dream, imagine it and that it will figure out on its own. That's not true, that's just a marketing trick like magical pills for weight loss due to which you are going to lose weight no matter what you eat. That doesn't make sense. As well as these pills, even the positive thoughts can'r work on its own. Of course we have to do something for fulfilling our dreams. The Universe can give us opportunities, set up the circumstances so it will be easier to make our wishes come true. For example if you want to earn money, you won't probably find the money on the sidewalk. But maybe "broadcasting" the positive thoughts will bring you some great job opportunity.
They say that if you want change something, you have to do the first step within 24 hours.

3. "Tomorrow" means "Never"
If you meditate and you use some affirmation, you know that you have to say the in present tense - in your mind you repeat "I am happy", "I'm healthy", "I have a lot of money". If you think about something in present tense, you broadcast more energy to the Universe. If you say "I will be rich" or "I'll find new friends" ... it's not clear when do you want your wish to come true. The Universe doesn't only ignore the word "no", it also doesn't know what the future and the past is. So it's better to say things like - "I have a lot of money" or "Thank you for the money I have" ...
4. We don't believe in success
I make this mistake all the time and I guess I'm not the only one - for example let's say that I want thousand people to visit my blog every day. Which is really far away from the reality right now. So altough I want it, I don't believe that it will come true one day. Somewhere inside of me I don't believe I can do it. Do you know that feeling? You want something badly but your head is full of annoying thoughts which tell you that you can't do that, you should be more realistic, that your dreams are too big etc. Sometimes even the people in our neighbourhood tell us these things. So if you believe that every thought has its energy (and I believe it's true), all the negative thought together send much stronger message to the Universe than the thought of your dream.

A bit more serious example - according to what's happening in the world righ now, I truly wish for world peace from the heart. If you watch TV news or you read newspaper, it's freaking hard to repeat in your mind "we live in harmony, all people have peace in their heart" or things like that. It's hard for me too, however I try to say these things in my mind during meditation or just during the day, because I believe that this way I do more for the world than If I succumbed to fear and shared the negative energy.
So let's try to send beautiful messages and one day we may light up the Universe ... :)
