Martinsicuro 2016 (Part 2)

Italy is full of tourists therefore I thought that the people there will communicate in English. Fail. Wherever we went, they talked to us in italian, even though they saw we don't understand a word. Eventually they started talking a bit slower and they started explaining what are they talking about - in italian ...

The last day we had to tidy up our mobilhome before 9am and we left Martinsicuro at 9.15pm. So we went to the beach, to the swimming pool, we bought a pizza and we ate it on the beach and then we went for a café and a dessert to one amazng café. Beautiful end. Some of the people spent the last day similarly, some people were afraid to leave the camp and so they went just to the swimming pool. And some of them were sitting on their luggages and they were just waiting for the bus the whole day. I don't get it, do you?

I have to admit that this year it was really hard to leave. We visited much more interesting places, but when we leave, we have to say goodbye only to the place. This time we had to leave not only the place but also the people we were meeting every day. Altough we were just meeting them and not talking to them (because we didn't understand them a word) ... it was somehow harder then ever before.

There are many things which are said about Italians - most of them are religious, the girls care about fashion a lot, the boys are womanizers and when they're married they are very jealous and they watch their wifes (a bit too much) ... I don't see inside the families but what I noticed about the italian character, is different. On the beach, they were playing some games all the time or talking with their friends/families, people were running along the sea, cycling or working out in the streets. We didn't meet nearly as many people looking to their phone as I meet every day in Czech republic.
In comparison to us, these "southerners" are much more natural, resolute, emotional, louder ... Most of us usually rush all the time, we get stressed easily and we feel like we need to get things done in the shortest possible time. Italians don't rush at all. If something breaks, don't expect they are going to repair it immediately. It will wait. That may not be always convinient but just because of that, the atmosphere is so different. Calmness, no stress,  ... I know that the Italian were on holiday there too, so they behaved probably a bit different then normally. But the workers in the markets and restaurant acted like that too. I feel that everytime we spent holiday on South. Not because it's holiday and we're on vacation. But because of the people and the atmosphere around them.

I miss this behaviour here too - that naturalness, spontaneity and confidence. I do that too - I control myself, I care too much about what I say, how I look ... and I don't want it to be "inappropriate". The people there were smiling, speaking loudly and they were natural, real ...
