Tomorrow I'll have my last week at high school. My last high school exam is in one month and instead of studying all the time, I'm sitting here, staring at the wall and the voice in my head keep asking:

I don't want to give up on high school a month before its end, I don't tell you to give up on education jsut because you may get the certification at the end. I just feel like we should think about thse things a bit more. We should learn because we want to, not just because good grades. Maybe parents or teachers are telling you the opposite ... but good grades don't guarantee any success in your life. A person who cheats as test all the time may end up having the best grades. And people who are not that good at school, but who give a lot of effort to developing new skills, which they find important .... may become much more succesful in life.
Or maybe not.
It's up to us.
It's not about the papers at all.
"Is it worth it?"

We all naturally want to learn and explore. Unfortunatelly compulsory school attendance often mute this desire so much. I'm able to learn three sanskrit mantras in 10 minutes, I learn any song lyrics after listening the song two times or so, I tought myself basic spanish through phone app and I graphic design through Youtube videos ... And the reason is simple - because I want it.
Because it makes sense to me.
Because I know that these skills will help me in future or because I simply enjoy the process of learning new things.
Because it makes sense to me.
Because I know that these skills will help me in future or because I simply enjoy the process of learning new things.
I love languages, I love yoga, I admire Eastern philosophy and creative activities of any kind give meaning to my life.

And on the other side, there are school tests and the scary thing called Maturita (Czech final high school exam consisting of usually 4 subjects) and the biggest motivation for passing it is just a piece of paper. With this piece of paper, you can continue "further" in this system and maybe in few years you'll get a diploma and some extra letters to your name!
As an aquarius, I've always had problem with the "system". I have problems doing things which don't make sense to me, which don't bring any joy to me or people around me ... Doind thing just because it's "normal", because it's "supposed to be like that" and because "everyone else" is doing them. That's why senteces like these drive me crazy:
"In life, you won't be doing only things you enjoy"
"At least you practise your memory"
"At work, you'll be doing senseless things too"
I don't believe it works like that. Maybe I'm naive (as many people tell me) but I believe that you can do things differently. I believe that people can get jobs which they'll enjoy and which will bring them joy and maybe some positive change to the world too. Maybe it won't be a change affecting all those 7,6 billions of people, maybe it will affect just few of their friends, relatives, neghbours or clients ... It's still wort it.
I believe we don't need to do things which don't make sense to us. We don't have to follow the crowd, we don't have to live up to other people's expectations and we don't have to follwo scenarios which were created by people in the past.
We don't need to accept that we live in the paper world.
