Extremes

Veganism, zero-waste, esoteric, politics ... No matter what subject we're talking about, I feel like people are getting less and less tolerant - and unfortunatelly I see this on my side as well. But is it actually even possible not to be "extreme" in these subjects?

Escapes

I'm a person who likes escaping. Escaping problems, fear, negative thoughts. Running away from them into myself and hiding in my shell. Are escapes always just a sign of weakness or they can helps us take a step towards our future?

Chapter number 12

I'm lying with my notebook in my IKEA apartment, alternately, I glide through the photo board and the wiping map of the world hanging next to the wall. Christmas is coming in few days and I still can't believe that 2018 is over.

Maturity Exam

They say that graduation is the exam of maturity. In fact, in Czech Republic, the final high school exam is even called the Maturita. But the real exam actually begins after you leave the door of the classroom. When you pass the school part of the exam, you have nothing holdin you back and finally you have to deal with the real exam of maturity. I feel like the holiday after the last high school year are the exam itself. The time to examinate how well can we spend our time, if we're able to plan our own future life .. and how much fun can we have while doing all of this.

In comparison to the school maturity exam, this second "part" ended up quite differently from what I expected.

The Barrier

One Czech proverb says: "The more languages you know, the more persons you become". I've never been thinking about the depth of this proverb as much as I do recently. Languages gives you an opportunity to become someone else. Sometimes it's simply because your vocabulary is so poor that you can't look like the big philosoph even if you wanted to .. But also sometimes, some things are just easier to say in a language different from your mothertongue ...

Freedom.

A week until my last high school exam. Projects to finish: 5. Unfinished books: 1. Problematic high school finals questions: 4. Summer holiday plans: tens. Realistically planned ones: 0

I've been looking forward to this summer for months. Or maybe years. 3 months of complete freedom. I have tons of free time. Quite enough money. Almost no duties. But as the school year was coming to its end, I realized that freedom is actually quite difficult thing to handle.

The Paper World (Pre-graduation Moment of Philosophy)

Tomorrow I'll have my last week at high school. My last high school exam is in one month and instead of studying all the time, I'm sitting here, staring at the wall and the voice in my head keep asking:
"Is it worth it?"

Sorry, I don't have time

We say this sentence so often. Whever we don't want to do some work, we put it off and then we're not able to finish it at time. Whenever we're looking for an excuse for something. I just don't have time. Simple excuse for every situation.

What's next?

I'm alive. Living more in the real life than the virtual one for past couple of weeks.

New Year - New Me

I tried to enjoy Christmas in a bit different way this year. I was drawing and writing a lot. I read a lot of books. I spent a lot of time watching Christmas movies on TV with the lightened tree in the background. I was just trying to spend more time in the real world, than in the virtual one ...

And so that's why I'm coming to this blog just now - the last day of this year and I'm coming to talk to you a little bit about New Year's resolutions, goals and about the reasons why we often don't follow them at all.

Fairytale Wisdom

I've always loved fairytales - when I was a kid and even now when I'm literally an "adult". Fairytales hide so much wisdom, we need in our life. Sometimes we actually understand their real hidden ideas when we grow older. So now, make a cup of tea or coffee and give yourself a little moment to think about all the beautiful thoughts, hidden between the lines of my favourite fairytales.

The Happy Life Tutorial

I am a person who's absolutely obsessed with making lists. Shopping lists, bucket lists, New year resolution lists, lists of books to read, lists of memories ... written on paper, in my phone, in a diary or saved in a computer. I especially love writting goals of any kind - short term or long term goals and dreams I want to turn into reality. My last list is a bit different. The goals here and not reallz goals but rather some thoughts and ideas. Things, I'd like to include in my daily life to make my life happier, more relaxed and fullfilled ♥

School or prison?

I love studying. I love the feeling when I discover new information, when I start to read between the lines and eventually find out that there's still so much to learn and I experience Socrates' feeling when he said "I know that I know nothing".
This world is an amazing place, where we can constantly discover completely new things and the process of learning is natural to all of us. Unfortunatelly, school often works as a place, where all of out enthusiasm for studying disappears ...

... because I love myself

Wednesday morning. I'm standing in front of the mirror, I'm feeling proud of myself for finally learning how to wear skirts and at the same time I'm wondering - should I put makeup on or not? My skin doesn't look very good right now. Stress around school, holiday, my driving lessons ... All those things joined together and affected my skin.
I'm watching all of my pimples, scars, dark circles under my eyes ... and then I finally realize that: None of these things matter at all !

Hope As An Enemy

It's said, that hope dies last. When your life is falling apart, you fail in everything you do, there's still a bit of hope, that things will get better - like they used to be. But isn't hope sometimes kind of brake? Something that holds you back and force you to hold on things which belong to your past ?

“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” - Buddha

What I do is not your bussiness

"They force us to walk with them in that cold even with New Year's hangover," laughed a man with a dog who I met in a park on 1st of January. Every day, we're forced to do many things. We act, we speak, we smile in some way and we don't often think if what forces us is our own need or just the influence of our surroundings.

Week Honesty Challenge

It's Christmas. For me this time is not only about food, gifts and visiting the relatives. It's also about
concluding everything that happened during the year and starting a new chapter of our lifes. During Christmas, we should solve all the conflicts, misunderstandings and fights so we can start the new year with a clear conscience.

Goodbye.

How would you like to die? Fall asleep ... and not to wake up anymore. I guess most of us wish this. This is how it's supposed to be. This is natural. But it doesn't look like that nowadays.

Death is something that most of people are fraid of. It doesn't matter if you're Buddhist, Christian, Muslim or you call yourself an atheist. No matter what you believe in, nobody really know what's after this life. We all can just guess. Nobody who has "experienced" death, will ever tell us, how did it feel. And what's then.

Stories Behind The Photos

Since the smatphones era srated, I've been spening quite a lot of time on my phone. I often watch photos of people on instagram and many times I was upset and jealous about these people and their "perfect life". When you're sitting at school and you come across a photo of a girl doing yoga at sunset on a beach ... it makes you jealous. If you live in a small apartments and you have a small shared bedroom with a sibling and then you see all the enormous houses with swimming pool and sea view ... it doesn't make you happy. But have you ever thought that not everything in the photo is real? That there may be a hidden story in the background, that's not happy at all?

Books That Change Life

Since I was a child, I've loved books and I feel really sorry for all people who don't read - they have no idea how much they're missing. No matter if you read some relaxing literature or psychological book, reading always brings just positive things - our vocabulary is expanding, our concentration is better, we can get rid of stress ... And if you choose the right book, it can completely change your life attitude. It may be pretty hard to find a book like this - that's why I made a list of few book that affected me the most and which you should read too :)
