Vitamins For Skin Health (vegan friendly)

Skin is the biggest organ of our body. All the negative things happening inside, all the imbalance, all the internal problems can often call for attention in a form of rashes, acne or eczema. Obviously, there may many different causes - allergies, food intollerances, hormonal imbalance, imbalanced diet .... as well as genetic burden or mental health issues. Skin issues can be also caused by lack of specific vitamins and minerals in our body. Which ones are essential for our skin health and how can you get them from completely plant-based diet?

Extremes

Veganism, zero-waste, esoteric, politics ... No matter what subject we're talking about, I feel like people are getting less and less tolerant - and unfortunatelly I see this on my side as well. But is it actually even possible not to be "extreme" in these subjects?

Vegetarianism May Do More Harm Than Meat-eating

When I stopped eating meat, I thought I'm saving the world. That thanks to my effort, some animals will have pretty and peaceful life. Well ... Unfortunatelly, it's not that true. In fact, vegetarianism may sometimes do more harm that eating meat.

Why Don't We Eat Cat Meat

Is it possible to thrive on compeletely plant-based diet, without eating any meat and other animal products? How many of us can imagine eating no ice cream, cheese or chicken nuggets anymore? And once you decide to go for it ... how to do it ?
Last month I created a questionnaire which got about 1200 respondents in just three days. If you're interested in how many animal products "ordinary" people consume, how they percieve the killing of animals and how much information they (don't) know about the story behind their food ... then keep reading! :)

Why (Not Only) Vegetarians Shouldn't Eat Cheese

I'm a vegetarian and I try to avoid dairy too (altough I'm not always succesful. Since I was a kid I've loved chhese and so qutting cheese has always been my biggest problem. But when I found shocking information about cheese production, I realized that cheese definitely shouldn't be a part of a vegetarian diet.

How to Become a Vegetarian

I became a vegetarian about a half a year ago. I've never really liked meat however it was still difficult to cut it out of my diet completely. Food is often connected to nice memories from our life. I still remember how we were sitting by the fire with my family and roasting the mackerels, how my grandpa used to make the best chicken nuggets in the world or how we always had fish and potato salad for every Christmas dinner. Am I  going to be a vegetarian until the end of my life? I don't know. I can't say anything for sure, because I have no idea what I'll be thinking about in ten years, one year or one week from now. It's not an easy decision to become a vegetarian, but right now it makes perfect sense to me ...

#4 DAIRY SERIES - Butter & Ice Cream

There are many types of plant-based milk and you can find several plant-based yogurts - but what about ice cream or butter? It's a bit more complicated ... Anyway there are still many options to replace these products.

What Meateaters Say (And Why They're Wrong) #2

“Animals are my friends...and I don't eat my friends.”
― George Bernard Shaw
It's natural
In prehistory, it was natural for people to kill a mamoth, eat the meat and make a coat from its fur. But we're not living in the prehistory anymore. We live in modern civilization, we have central heating and electricity in our houses and we can buy any kind of food in a supermarket anytime. Things which were natural in past can't be compared with the "naturalness" today. If we'd really like to live naturally, we would have to give up electricity, cosmetics, lights in our apartments etc. Because that's not "natural" too. And if we'd come back to the real beginning we'd have to live in stone hut where we'd use just fire for heating and lighting and eat just some berries ... Some peoples still live like this nowadays but the majority is not into this lifestyle. So talking about "nature" in terms of eating meat, is quite meaningless.

Bombus Raw Bars

Bombus is a czech brand that sells gluten free, sugar free, preservatives & colors free raw bars. Most of them are made with dates + more dried fruit, nuts, coconut or cacao beans. They're low in calories but they provide a lot of vitamins and healthy carbs which give you energy everytime you need it .. And plus they're pretty addictive!

Bombus Raw Bars

I read a post which said that if you wanna buy healthy food, altough all the ingredients are healthy, there shouldn't be more than five of them. Bombus bars prove that the best meals can be made of just few ingredients. Nowadays there are four types of bars - raw energy bars, protein bars, fruit & chia bars and kids energy bars.

What Meateaters Say (And Why They're Wrong) #1

Youtube channel AwakenWithJP released a video about sentences which vegans often say. But what about the craps which meateaters say all the time? People who have been eating meat since their childhood have some thoughts in their head which they can't get rid of and they often don't have enough information about plant-based diet ...

#2 DAIRY SERIES - Milk substitutes

Giving up dairy products can be tough. Especially if you used to consume dairy every day. If you decided to go vegan or you were diagnosed with milk allergy or you want to reduce your dairy consumption from any other reason - this post will (I hope) help you a bit :)

MILK
Honestly - in the beginning all the types of plant based milk tasted like a white water without any flavor. No plant based milk tastes like a cow milk. If you're cooking or baking, you won't taste the difference probably. But if you like to drink milk on its own, it may take some time to get use to it.

5 Things You Wanna Know About Veganism

Yesterday I totally forgot about the international vegan day (the same way I totally forgot about Halloween this year) so I'm posting this article today. For all of you who consider becoming vegan - I have few things you should get ready for ..

Vegan Doesn't Mean Healthy
Before you decide to become vegan, I'm gonna tell you something - being vegan doesn't mean being healthy. There is a lot of healthy vegan food, the vegan diet is actually made mostly of fresh fruit, vegetables and legumes .. and there is also a lot of junk food you're gonna have to give up (like milk chocolate, Nutella, hamburgers, milk shakes etc.) BUT! If you don't follow strict plant-based vegan diet (= never eat processed food), the oily fries, chips, and tons of white bread still stay vegan.

Tip: Don't think that if you're vegan, you can eat anything. You can't. Consider Plant-Based veganism or at least try to avoid rafined sugar, white flour, colorants, preservatives and products with GMO.

Eating Meat or NOT?

I'm a vegeterian for about 98% of my time - only when I travel or at some celebration I want to try some speciality or I don't wanna offend the host. I'm a supporter or animal rights and I don't want to come back to eating meat .. However I don't judge anyone who eats mean. Because somehow it really is natural for human. In this post I'd like to share with you some thoughts about vegetarianism, (dis)advantages of eating meat and also I'd like to give you tips for how to eat meat ethically if necessary.

Ethical Eating

I used to think I'd never be able to get rid of chicken nuggets, scrambled eggs, my beloved cheese, greek yogurt, ice cream or milk chocolate. But the vegan profiles on instagram, vegan youtubers, vegan blogs and food brands made me start finding out more about this lifestyle. On the other hand I have to admit that the ingredients of some vegan products is not perfect at all too. They don't contain animal products but they still may contain a lot of white sugar, flour, preservatives, colorants, palm oil and other igredients which may not harm animals but at least it definitely have bad effect ourselves, our health and also on the nature around us. And that led me to the idea of "ethical eating".
