Skin is the biggest organ of our body. All the negative things happening inside, all the imbalance, all the internal problems can often call for attention in a form of rashes, acne or eczema. Obviously, there may many different causes - allergies, food intollerances, hormonal imbalance, imbalanced diet .... as well as genetic burden or mental health issues. Skin issues can be also caused by lack of specific vitamins and minerals in our body. Which ones are essential for our skin health and how can you get them from completely plant-based diet?

Healthy & Cheap

I often hear people saying that they can't eat healthy, because healthy food is too expensive. Well, it's more expensive to cook from high quality ingredients than to eat the cheapest processed food you can find in the store ... But if you have an average income and you're used to eat "normal" food, than eating healthy is not a problem ! :)

Veggies Mini Detox

If we could add one day of fasting a week, our body would get the best detox ever. Just not eating for the whole day, drinking enough water and letting the body to cleanse itself. Honestly ... I personally haven't reached this level of will power yet and not eating for the whole day is one of my future goals, which I'm not able to reach now. So for this purpose, I go through one day fruit&veggies detox from time to time. After a party, after a day when I was eating too much junk food or when I just feel I need a restars. What are the benefits of this detox plan and how to do it?

Quick & Healthy - Tips For Busy Foodies

People eat unhealthy food not only because they "like it". They also often claim that they don't have enough money and time to prepare it . It's so much easier to take some toast with cheese and eat it in less then minute. Or to make an instant asian soup, eat store-bought sweetened yogurt with granola and to buy kebab or vietnamese noodles in fastfood nearby.
In fact, eating healthy is super simple and it doesn't take much time either. If you follow these few steps, you won't be able to use these excuses anymore :)

Sleep Less, Drink Less & Eat More!

There are still new and new studies about healthy diet and the old rules and thoughts are becomming myths. However we still believe in some of them and we don't even think about doubt about them. We accept them as a matter of course. We ignore the bbiorhytm of our own body and the signals it sends -just because we believe in what "the experts say" !

Sleep at least 8 hours a day
It's logical that we should sleep at night and wake up when the sun starts shining. Unfortunatelly in our society, where we have to wake up early for school/job, nature doesn't seem important. However this is still true - short but deep sleep is better than 10 hours of rolling over from side to side with your mind full of stressful thoughts. Also your sleep is much deeper before midnight so it's worth to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier in the morning :)

Bombus Raw Bars

Bombus is a czech brand that sells gluten free, sugar free, preservatives & colors free raw bars. Most of them are made with dates + more dried fruit, nuts, coconut or cacao beans. They're low in calories but they provide a lot of vitamins and healthy carbs which give you energy everytime you need it .. And plus they're pretty addictive!

Bombus Raw Bars

I read a post which said that if you wanna buy healthy food, altough all the ingredients are healthy, there shouldn't be more than five of them. Bombus bars prove that the best meals can be made of just few ingredients. Nowadays there are four types of bars - raw energy bars, protein bars, fruit & chia bars and kids energy bars.

#3 DAIRY SERIES - Yogurt & Cheese

When I started limiting dairy in my diet, cheese and yogurt were the biggest problem. I used to love them and I had no idea what am I gonna eat instead. Now, few months later I don't crave them at all but if I did I would know how to replace them :)

#2 DAIRY SERIES - Milk substitutes

Giving up dairy products can be tough. Especially if you used to consume dairy every day. If you decided to go vegan or you were diagnosed with milk allergy or you want to reduce your dairy consumption from any other reason - this post will (I hope) help you a bit :)

MILK
Honestly - in the beginning all the types of plant based milk tasted like a white water without any flavor. No plant based milk tastes like a cow milk. If you're cooking or baking, you won't taste the difference probably. But if you like to drink milk on its own, it may take some time to get use to it.

#1 DAIRY series: 10 Health Reasons to Give Up Dairy

I was thinking about giving up dairy for a long time - from ethical and also health reasons. But it was too hard for me. As a kid I used to be cheese lover - feta, mozarella, blue cheese - I used to love all of them. Also I used to have yogurt for breakfast almost every morning. And giving up ice cream, sour cream, butter, the food that used to be a part of my daily diet plan ? That seemed absolutely impossible for me. On the other hand I began to realize more and more reasons to actually give up dairy. Right now I limit my dairy consumption to minimum - I gave it up almost completely, I just had some weak moments when I ate something containing dairy. But moreover I wasn't only able to give up dairy - I don't even MISS it at all.

5 Breakfast Ideas

No matter how my lifestyle looked like recently - my breakfasts stayed super healthy and big. Exactly the way I need them. I'm a breakfast person - I couldn't go anywhere and do anything before food in the motning. In this post I'd like to give you few tips for my breakfasts.

Tahini Oatmeal
Do you like halva? I used to love it before I realized that the bought halva is packed with added loads of sugar and fat. But I'll give you a tip - tahini sauce with a spoon of honey tastes EXACTLY like halva! I love this combination in oatmeal. In the picture there's oatmeal with tahini, honey, pineapple, berries, coconut nibs, sliced almonds and date sirup.

Listen To Your Body

I started to care more about food to feel healthier, to lose some weight, to clean my skin ... At the end, I just felt like sleeping all day long. In the evenings I was curling up in a blanket and I was gorging with chocolate. Thought about food were on my mind 24/7 and my lifestyle feel apart. How could such a good idea collapse?

5 Things You Wanna Know About Veganism

Yesterday I totally forgot about the international vegan day (the same way I totally forgot about Halloween this year) so I'm posting this article today. For all of you who consider becoming vegan - I have few things you should get ready for ..

Vegan Doesn't Mean Healthy
Before you decide to become vegan, I'm gonna tell you something - being vegan doesn't mean being healthy. There is a lot of healthy vegan food, the vegan diet is actually made mostly of fresh fruit, vegetables and legumes .. and there is also a lot of junk food you're gonna have to give up (like milk chocolate, Nutella, hamburgers, milk shakes etc.) BUT! If you don't follow strict plant-based vegan diet (= never eat processed food), the oily fries, chips, and tons of white bread still stay vegan.

Tip: Don't think that if you're vegan, you can eat anything. You can't. Consider Plant-Based veganism or at least try to avoid rafined sugar, white flour, colorants, preservatives and products with GMO.

Eating Meat or NOT?

I'm a vegeterian for about 98% of my time - only when I travel or at some celebration I want to try some speciality or I don't wanna offend the host. I'm a supporter or animal rights and I don't want to come back to eating meat .. However I don't judge anyone who eats mean. Because somehow it really is natural for human. In this post I'd like to share with you some thoughts about vegetarianism, (dis)advantages of eating meat and also I'd like to give you tips for how to eat meat ethically if necessary.

How I Lost 10 Pounds - Diet Plan Changes (PART 2)

Today's post is going to be the second part of my "fitness journey story" ...

Calories vs. Nutritional Values
When I started working out, I was interested in calories. I believed that fact I read on so many sites on the internet - you just need to burn more calories than is your calories intake. So I tried to guess at least the calories of every single meal I ate. I don't mena that I limited myself somehow. That never happened and that will probably never happen in future. (Why? Because I just like food, fullstop.) That way I just apologized all the chocolate bars and cookies I ate - I just though that when the bar has 200 calories, it can cover the calories intake for snack and so I will just eat that bar and nothing else between the breakfast and lunch and my diet will be still healthy.

How I Lost 10 Pounds - Diet Plan Changes (PART 1)

I don't have sixty centimetres around my waist. I don't do squats with fourty pounds weights. I can do just less than ten push-ups before I fall down. I can't run more than 7 kilometres. Burpees and jump squats are still my nightmares ... But I have more endurance. I'm less ill and overall I feel healthier. I lost over ten pounds during the last year.

And mainly I'm far away from where I was few years ago.

The WOULD-BE vs. the REAL healthy food

Everyday we are overwhelmed by commercials for cereals, that according to the producers make the perfect breakfast with a bowl of milk and that will ensure the ideal start to the new day for you, advertisements for juices, luring by the piles of fresh fruit, müsli bars, after whose eating you'll get your dream figure, the yogurts with digestibility enhancers with a large amount of fruit and already mentioned cereals ...
But not all of these would-be "healthy" products are really healthy. In the commercials and on the packaging you can find the health-promoting substances written by the big letters, but you'll find what they really contain just if you check the content a bit closer.

healthy breakfast

Breakfast cereals and granola bars contain oat flakes (about 50%) and maybe some pieces of fruit (usually about 2-3%). Besides it they also contain "normal" wheat (white wheat flour), a lot of sugar (and glucose-fructose syrup), fat (sunflower or palmoil) and Es - preservatives, emulsifiers, substances that highligh the taste and which are the reason why you can't resist your favourite bar.
Now have a look at fruit juices. For example you can find there glucose-fructose syrup4% (!!) juice from concentrate, flavors and sweetener E 925 and E 954 - which is banned by USA because it caused when testing on rats.

raw zucchini noodles with tomato sauce

Processed food contain a lot of substances which don't help our body but they actually destroy our health. How many times have you eaten something containing aspartame, saccharin, or monosodium glutamate, substances which can cause headaches and even Alzheimer's disease or cancer ? Not to mention ingredients which are not toxic but which can't be called healthy either (refined sugar, white wheat flour, palm oil, GMO soy and corn)

Avoiding all the Es and other dangerous substances is impossible. Even if you ate only the food from your garden, there are chemical in the soil so you wouldn't be able to avoid is completely. But you can change something at least. You can try to buy natural food, which don't contain the things which shouldn't be there. Instead of fruit yogurt full of chemicals you are not even able to read, buy plain greek yogurt and add some fresh or dried druit. You can also make your own granola. Eating healthy doesn't mean eating food that is labeled "healthy". Eating healthy means eating natural and real food.

3 Everyday Detox Drinks

Last time I'm a bit addicted to pinterest and I'm able to spend hour and hour there - for example looking for something I could eat for the breakfast and then I always realize that I miss at least one ingredient or even better some kitchen equipment. Compared to Tumblr, where I rather read the posts of people, pouring out their hearts, I go to pinterest rather because of the inspiraton for recipes and DIY.
One thing I found in that "gastronomic part" is a large amount of Detox Drinks. Every single drink is made for a different result - for skin, weigh loss, energy, whole organism deotx .. Today I'd like to show you three absolutely simple detox drinks, which I found on Pinterest :)
