I often hear people saying that they can't eat healthy, because healthy food is too expensive. Well, it's more expensive to cook from high quality ingredients than to eat the cheapest processed food you can find in the store ... But if you have an average income and you're used to eat "normal" food, than eating healthy is not a problem ! :)
The basic advice for eating healthy and cheap - eat whole foods. Forget about the wannabe healthy foods you can find in the health stores. You can make all the patties, salads, sauces, and bar with minimum of money at home. Just learn to cook and create these things on your own. You can save a lot of money by bakign your own cookies, granola, muesli bars .. For example you can make very simple and cheap raw bars with dried dates, some nuts or seeds and oats - just put them into a blender and you're done! You can make bars for a whole family for the same price (or even cheaper) as you'd pay in a shop.

- Skinny flourless chocolate chip cookies
- Raw energy bites
- Peanut balls
- Hazelnut balls
- Coconut-banana balls
Another tip is to buy second grade fruit and vegetables. Usually supermarkets sell these things with quite a big sale because they are just ready to eat. You can make a great smoothie from overripe mango, use second grade strawberries for delicious healthy muffins or turn tomatoes into an amazing pasta salsa :)
A lof of people who addopt vegan / vegetarian diet replace all the animal products with plant-based alternatives - soy cheese, vegan schnitzels, soy butter, vegan yogurts ... Is this all necessary? Not at all. You can save a lot of money by getting your protein and other essential nutrients from beans, lentils, pea etc. :)
