In few days, there'll be the first Full Moon of this year. Full Moon ends the waxing moon phase and after this phase, we can expect a time for exhale and relaxation. So during the Full Moon, we should learn to let go what no longer serves us and instead we should learn to live mindfully in present moment.
In the time after Full Moon, we should take a moment to rest and recharge energy after all the demanding activities we were doing in the previous phase.
The goal of the Full Moon ritual is to let go and forgive.
Do you have thoughts in your head, which prevent you from sleep every single night? Are you constantly coming back to times in past, when you were happy but which you can't get back to? Are you still thinking about moments when something went wrong and you keep thinking about what would you do differently?
All of these things belong to the past. They're like weight, which pulls us into deep ocean. Something, that brings us to the last page of the same book, when we'd like to start reading (creating) a new story.
It's not about forgeting. It's about forgiving, realizing that you can't step back into the past. You can't change the story, you can't change the characters and the person you used to be.
Full Moon Ritual
Full Moon is the time for cleanse. We should cleanse our body as well as our mind. You can either try one day fasting, eat only fruit&veggies for the whole day (or few days) or drink smoothies or fresh juices. If you're used to work with crystals in meditation or if you use them as amulets, you should cleanse them and let them charge by the Full Moon light.
Create an environment, where you'll feel comfortable dring the ritual. Light up a candle or incense stick, put on some comfortable clothes and turn on meditative music to the background (or keep it silent).
Prepare a big put, a box of matches and few sheets of paper. Take a piece of paper and start writing all the words, thoughts or names you'd like to let go. You can write continuous text, a list or just random words all around the sheet.
Then ignite the match and let the paper burn over the pot. Watch your worries, grievances and unpleasant thoughts turn into dust. Keep writing and burning until you get rid of everything you don't want to keep in your future life. Then sit or lie down for a while, close your eyes and focus on your breathe.
Take a deep breathe in, hold it for a moment and then breath out. Repeat for few more times and then get back to your normal breathing. You can also use gudied meditation created specifically for this purpose.
