On Friday I got the results of my blood tests, according that I have dairy allergy. I already noticed my skin gets worse when I consume more dairy products and I feel much better when I avoid dairy. On the other hand, almost everything contain at least a little milk and I didn't avoid it completely. Recently I was eating quite a lot of milk chocolate, for breakfast I used to have yogurt sometimes and for lunch (because I was too lazy to cook) I used to go to local vegetarian restaurant - where almost every meal I had contained dairy ... Anyway now when I know officially, I should remove dairy from my diet completely. So I plan to try new types of plant-based milk. They can be made from different nuts, grains, seeds and they have different specific tastes and also different nutritional values - some of them are higher in fat, others are higher in carbs etc. In this breakfast recipe I used poppy seeds milk. Poppy seeds contain iron, calcium, magnesium, mmanganese and other health-promoting substances. It improves skin quality, hair growth,strenghten bones, boost imunity .. So why don't you get a pack of health in the morning ? :)

As a kid I didn't really like poppy seeds - I used to know them just from the school cantine. We used to have sweet lunches sometimes and it was almost always either porridge (that I used to love) or pasta with popy seeds and sugar (that I used to hate). I didn't use to eat some food just because of the fact they were connected to some specific meal - sour lentils, spinach with potatoes and pork, tinned beetroot, bean stew, scrambled mushrooms ... Now I could't go a week without legumes or beet, because I discovered tons of much better and much healthier ways to prepare these foodstuffs. And finally I found some usage of poppy seeds too.
Poppy milk
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup poppy seeds
- 2 cups water
How to:
- Pour a bit of water over the poppy seeds and soak them overnight
- In the morning, add the rest of the water and blend it
- To make the milk really smooth, strain the milk through clean cloth or fine strainer.
Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup poppy milk
- 1 banana
- 3-4 dates
- 1 kiwi
- a piece of chocolate
- chia seeds
- sesame seeds
- almond meal
- granola
How to:
- Soak the dates for a while to soften them. Remove the water, dry the dates and blend them with the milk and banana.
- Top with kiwi, seeds, chocolate and granola :)

Díky :) Já se sama divím, dřív jsem úplně milovala sýry a jogurty, byla jsem toho schopna sníst neskutečný množství .. ale není tak těžký se toho vzdát, jak jsem si myslela :)
